Dr Jade Hammer BVSc (Hons) MVSc - Director
Jade graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland in 2009 before returning to Gippsland to start work at the clinic.
In 2016 he graduated with a Master of Veterinary Science from the University of Sydney.
He has published a number of peer reviewed research papers and is a Research Affiliate of the School of Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney.
Jade became a partner of the clinic in 2017 and enjoys all aspects of mixed practice.

Dr Kylie Wickham BSc BVSc - Director
Kylie grew up in Bendigo and studied at the University of Melbourne. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2006 and Bachelor of Veterinary science in 2010. Since graduating Kylie has worked in mixed practice in South Australia and Central Victoria.
She moved to Bairnsdale with her young family at the start of 2022 and has been welcomed by the friendly community.
Outside of the clinic Kylie loves the great outdoors and going on adventures with her 2 kelpie x dogs, Tommy & Nelly.

Dr Derek Harms BVSc
Having graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1993, Derek has worked in many areas including Melbourne, King Island, and throughout Gippsland in mixed practices.
He started at the Main Street Veterinary Clinic in 1999 and has extensive experience in ruminant medicine but also enjoys small animal medicine including some of our more exotic pets.

Dr Grant Slingo BVSc
Grant graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Melbourne in 2007. Grant joined the practice in 2008 after a short period in South Gippsland.
Grant enjoys rural mixed practice but has a special interest in small animal surgery, ultrasound and endoscopy.

Dr Charmaine Mraz BSc BVetBiol BVSc
Charmaine grew up in Buchan on the family farm.
She graduated from a Bachelor of Science in 2008 from the University of Melbourne before studying a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Veterinary Science at Charles Sturt University, graduating in 2015.
Having worked in Geelong gaining equine experience, she moved back to East Gippsland to join our team in 2017.
She continues to enjoy equine work, but also loves the variety that mixed animal practice offers.

Dr Durelle Esnouf BVSc MACVSc
Durelle graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with Honours in 1983 from the University of Melbourne. In 1996 she became a Member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Radiology. In 2004 she gained certification in Veterinary Acupuncture.
She spent two years after graduation working in a mixed practice in north-east Victoria, before locum work in Gisborne. She then worked in many practices throughout England. This was followed by ten years of mixed practice at Gisborne, where she became a partner of the clinic.
She then left to work as a locum and full-time veterinarian in Melbourne, including 17 years at one hospital.She then moved to East Gippland and joined the Main Street Veterinary Clinic part-time in 2019.
Outside of work in Winter you'll find her on the slopes enjoying her passion for skiing.

Dr Caryne Ramage BAnimScMgt BVetBiol BVSc
She completed a Bachelor of Animal Science and Management at The University of Melbourne before heading to Wagga Wagga to complete her Veterinary studies. In 2014, she graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology.
She spent her first four years after graduation working in a busy mixed practice in the Hunter Valley. There she gained vast experience in companion and large animal medicine and surgery.
She moved back to Victoria in 2019 to travel the state locuming at different clinics. After a short stint locuming here at Main St Vet Clinic, Caryne thought it was time to move back home to Bairnsdale and permanently joined the Main St team in 2022.
These days Caryne focuses most of her time in the clinic focusing on canine and feline medicine.

Dr Alana Linfoot BVSc
Alana grew up on the Central Coast of NSW. She studied at The University of Sydney, graduating in 2016 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science.
After graduation, she moved to Victoria and began her career at a mixed practice in Bacchus Marsh.
Following this she spent time in South East Melbourne and on the Mornington Peninsula focusing on canine and feline medicine and surgery.
In 2022, Alana moved to East Gippsland and joined the team at Main Street Veterinary Clinic.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the beach and catching up with friends and family.

Dr Kate Krause BSc DVM
Kate grew up in Bordertown in South Australia on a commercial sheep farm where she developed a passion for production animals.
She completed her Veterinary studies at the University of Adelaide, graduating with a Bachelor of Veterinary Bioscience and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2022. Kate can be found in the clinic looking after your pets or out on farm visits, persuing her interests in surgery and medicine.
In her spare time Kate will baking goods, gardening or reading.

Dr Jemma Sanderson BVetBiol BVSc
Jemma grew up on the outskirts of Melbourne on small acreage. Jemma completed a
Bachelor of Animal Veterinary Bioscience at LaTrobe University Bundoora before moving to
Wagga Wagga to complete a Bachelor of Veterinary Science at Charles Sturt University
graduating in 2023.
Jemma likes the variety mixed practice offers and enjoys getting out on farm.
Outside of work Jemma likes to spend time with her friends and family, camping and walking
her dog

Dr Lyla Wilson BSc DVM

Dr Zoe Canestra BSc DVM
Zoe grew up in Melbourne and completed her studies at the University of Melbourne graduating in 2024.
Zoe wanted to pursue mixed practice and moved to Bairnsdale to start her career at Main Street Veterinary Clinic at the start of 2025.
She enjoys working with farm animals and pets alike, and expanding her skills in surgery and medicine.
In her spare time Zoe likes knitting and spending time with her pets.

Dr Nicola Heron BSc DVM
Nicola grew up on a dairy farm in rural Scotland, before moving to WA in 2011 with her family.
She studied at Murdoch University and graduated in 2022, since then she has worked in several clinics throughout WA.
At the start of 2025, Nic moved to Bairnsdale with her dog, Poppy, and her cat, Fox.
Nicola loves the variety of large and small animal work at Main street, and has a keen interest in surgery and behaviour.
When not at work, she can be found reading, crafting, or walking Poppy.

Andrea Saunders
Practice Manager
Andrea joined our clinic in 2012 with an impressive work history in accounts management and finance.
Starting as a part time book-keeper, her role soon changed to a full-time Practice Manager.
Her role has become critical to the day to day smooth running of the practice.

Thea Lenane
Administration
Thea grew up in the local area and after 20+ years in retail jumped at the opportunity to join Main Street Vets in Administration.
Being able to work in an environment with wonderful colleagues who have so much love and compassion in the everyday challenges that come their way is amazing!
I love being around animals and take every opportunity I get to have cuddles and play with our patients.

Michelle Sleeman
Receptionist
Michelle has come to us with a variety of experience with reception, she has fit in very well with the team and has really enjoyed the change to caring for animals and their owners.
Michelle’s home is ruled by her cat Slinky.

Jenny Riley
Receptionist
Jenny has always had a passion for animals and wildlife and joined our team as a part-time receptionist in March 2022. She moved to East Gippsland 6 years ago to be closer to family.
Her pets include her dog Boof, Cat Mocha, rabbit Bun Bun and a guinea pig Peanut.
Her dream is to one day go on a safari to see the wildlife in Africa.

June Nilsson
Clinic Assistant
June joined the Main Street Veterinary Clinic team 2004.
Since that time, she worked many years as a veterinary nurse in all areas of the clinic including reception, surgery and hospital.
Nowadays her role has changed to a clinic assistant, ensuring the clinic operates as efficiently as possible so that we can provide the best care to all of our patients.

Sarah Mlynarz
Certified Veterinary Nurse - Nursing Manager
Sarah joined the practice in 1989, having previously worked in veterinary practices in Papua New Guinea and the UK, where she originally qualified as a Veterinary Nurse.
Sarah enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing, in particular behaviour, puppies, weight loss and senior wellness programs.
Sarah also adores horses and currently has four. Border collies and Papillions rate as her favourite breeds of dogs.
Sarah also has a Cert IV in Companion Animal Services and Cert IV in Frontline Management.

Lauren Blair
Certified Veterinary Nurse
Loz or Lovely Lauren as she is known grew up in Buchan South on a sheep and cattle property.
From this time, she has always had a passion for animals, and working with animals was always on the cards. She finds nursing animals highly rewarding and loves that no day is the same at the clinic.
She completed her Certificate IV in 2011 starting at the clinic when she was 17 in 2003. She is now a mum and has a menagerie of animals at home to keep her busy when not at work.

Tanya Dalley
Certified Veterinary Nurse
Following an introduction to the Main Street Veterinary Clinic through work experience at school, she became an employee of the clinic in the 1993.
Growing up on a cattle and sheep property, she has a passion for farming and a keen interest in farm animal health.
She enjoys the constant and wide variety of patients and cases which present in our clinic and has gained valuable knowledge over the years being mentored by many Veterinarians; from senior vets whom she has been fortunate to always have worked with, through to new graduates.

Karen Nattrass
Veterinary Nurse
Karen has been working as a nurse at the clinic since 2000.
She learnt on the job initially and has since participated in numerous continued education sessions for veterinary nurses.
She enjoys helping train new nurses and takes work experience students under her wing. She is also the go to for anything that needs maintenance or fixing in the clinic.

Lisa Mullaney
Certified Veterinary Nurse
Lisa grew up in Wodonga where her love for animals started with the family pets. In 2011
she followed her passion and started working at a small vet clinic in Rutherglen where she
completed her certificate II in Animal Studies and then went on to complete her Certificate
IV in Veterinary Nursing.
She loved her time in Rutherglen but in 2016 exciting life
opportunities brought her to Bairnsdale, where she joined the Main St team. Lisa loves what
she does and comes to work every day with a smile

Jodie Ralph
Certified Veterinary Nurse
Jodie has been working with us for 5 years. She is originally from Melbourne, where she was working with a lost dogs home for 8 years.
Currently lives in Metung with her family, 16 sheep, 1 Alpaca called Elvis, 2 dogs, Eddie & Arlo & a cat Louie.

Kristy Kramme
Certified Veterinary Nurse, Bachelor of Veterinary Technology
Kristy grew up locally in Bairnsdale and has always had a deep love and passion for animals. She started her certification in veterinary nursing right out of high school and went on to join the clinic in 2021.
She completed her bachelor at Charles Sturt University in 2022.

Shannon Broome
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Shannon has had a strong connection to animals since a very young age and patient care is at the top of her list.
Shannon joined the team in 2021 and has since completed her certificate 2 in Animal Studies, Fear free Certification, registered with the AVNA as a student and is close to completing her Certificate IV veterinary nursing.
Outside of work she is kept busy with her son Jett and dog Luna and many cats.

Rose Mahlook
Certified Veterinary Nurse
Rose had dreamed of working in the animal industry since she was a young kid. She has
always has a huge passion for all he animals, especially the “ugly cute” ones. She has a
special spot in her heart for cows and BIG dogs.
Rose studied her Certificate 2 in Animal Studies in 2011, and then lived and worked on a
farm for 11 years while raising her human babies and as well at the animals.
In 2021, Rose
finally followed her dreams and signed up for her Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing, and
started working at Main St Vet.
Rose loves coming to work every day at her dream job and then going home to her human
babies, 2 rotties, 1 chihuahua, 1 cat, all the bottle raised lambs, and the chickens.

Maegan Sherritt
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Growing up in the Lindenow area, with a love for animals, Maegan wanted nothing more than to help them. Inspired by her nan who also had a love for animals, she pursued her dream career.
Maegan studied her Certificate Two in Animal Studies at TAFE, during her last two years of high school (2021-2022) and once completed, went on to study Certificate Four in Veterinary Nursing (Currently, 2023-2024). She loves working as a team and enjoys the many experiences that occur daily.
Hired as a Kennel Hand in 2022, she became a full time Trainee Vet Nurse in 2023.

Dimity Trinder
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Dimity began her animal studies in 2017 and completed work experience here at the clinic. She began working at the clinic at the start of 2025 and is on track to finish her Veterinary Nursing certificate at the end of 2025. She enjoys that there is always something to learn every day at the clinic.
Dimity grew up on a cattle and sheep property just outside of Bairnsdale. Outside of work, Dimity enjoys spending time on the farm, playing netball and spending time with friends and family.

Sharon Moon
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Sharon grew up on a sheep and cattle property in Wulgulmerang and has worked on various farms over the years.
Sharon has always had a passion for animals and loves working at MSVC.
She is currently studying for her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
In her spare time, Sharon loves spending time in the outdoors, camping, travelling, bird watching, kayaking and white water rafting. Also gardening and hanging out with her cat, dog and chooks.

Emogen May
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Emy grew up locally, with a passion for all animals, competing all around the Gippsland area with her horses from a young age.
Emy has always wanted to work in the veterinary world and after training horses for a lot of years, decided to pursue her career in veterinary nursing.
She is currently studying her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.

Jade Sydekum
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Jade joined the clinic in 2024 starting as a receptionist, but it didn't take long before she was helping out the back.
She is now studying her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and has adapted well to the busy lifestyle of the clinic.
Outside of the clinic, Jade enjoys training her dogs and spending time snowboarding and motorbike riding to keep active.

Katie Crees
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Katie swapped caring for little humans in childcare to caring for furry, feathery, and sometimes even scaly friends in the clinic.
She is currently studying her Certificate 4 in Veterinary nursing and love being part of the team that helps pets feel their best.
Whether it’s offering a reassuring cuddle, learning new nursing skills, or making sure owners feel supported, Katie is here for both the animals and their people.
